Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes KEY CLUB different from other service clubs?

A: We are not just about volunteering in our community, but also by giving back through making youth leaders. K.E.Y Club is actually an acronym for Kiwanis Empowering Youth. Kiwanis are our parent organization; it's KEY CLUB on a global level. Kiwanis International has teamed up with UNICEF and Red Cross to bring a greater impact on service projects, such as the Eliminate Tetanus campaign. Through local service projects, members exhibit their leadership skills in the volunteer and orginizational work they do. Our dedicated officers work hard to always supply opportunities to bring the best out of their members. Also, KEY CLUB is not just at our school level. We host socials with other Key Clubs in our school district, and works with others in Houston. In fact, we are a part of Key Club Divison 3-S. Within the divison, we have student-elected executive officers that bring all Key Clubs closer together in one family.

Look under "About Us" tab and see the all past major service projects we have participated in. If you would like to be a part of them, you are always welcome to join us!

Q: How can I join? Is it too late?

A: It's never too late! WE ACCEPT MEMBERS ALL YEAR-ROUND! :)

CLUB DUES ARE $25 FOR RETURNING MEMBERS AND $20 FOR NEW MEMBERS

To get the info once we finalize it, join us on Facebook (CHS Key Club 2018-2019) or sign up for remind101 text reminders, just text @joinchskc (@ included) to 81010

Q: What do I do if I miss a meeting?

A: If you cannot come to our general meeting, you should contact our Secretary, Tatum La, under Officers and Contact and she will provide you with important info from our meeting!

Q: What has Clements Key Club done so far?

A: This is our 5th year in function. You can check out pictures from past volunteer projects and school-wide fundraisers under "About Us" Last year, we raised over $200 during Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. Kiwanis Internatioal and UNICEF teamed up for this project to eliminate maternal tetanus. We will be doing this again in October. It only takes a $1.80 to vaccinate a mother and prevent her children from contracting the disease as well.
