OUR MISSION AND HISTORY

Key Club International is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. It is a student-led organization devoted to making youth leaders through the service we do. There are over 260,000 active members and counting currently in the world, and over 5,000 clubs and growing to service their communities in over 30 countries. Our parent organization, Kiwanis International, has strong memberships in over 80 countries worldwide. As a whole, we work as Kiwanis does, with other service organizations such as UNICEF and March of Dimes.

Here in Key Club, we provide members with volunteer and social opportunities to meet other key clubbers in the same area that are working towards the same cause. We really become a family. Teamwork magnifies the effect and efforts towards making a difference in the world!

Clements Key Club is currently in our 4th year. Club meeting dates are once a month and dues are $20 for returning members and $25 for new members.

Previous Major Projects...

The Eliminate Project

Kiwanis International and UNICEF have been teaming up to help eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus by 2015. When a baby is born into unsanitary conditions, the child and mother are at risk of contracting the disease and will die within seven days. It only takes $1.80 to provide an easy vaccination to a mother and protect her and all her future children from the disease. Clements Key Clubbers participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and have raised funds within the community.

2015-2016 Clements-Dulles Key Club PB&J Social

In light of National Homelessness and Hunger Week November 15-22 sponsored by National Homeless, an organization sponsored by Kiwanis, Clements HS Key Club and Dulles HS Key Club teamed up to make over 700 sandwiches for the homeless at Starved Hope!

2016-2017 Clements-Houston Zoo ZooBoo Volunteer Event

In October 2016, Clements HS Key Club teamed up with the Houston Zoo to celebrate most treasured holiday for children across America - Halloween. Clements HS Key Club volunteered more than 60 hours at the Houston Zoo and served in pumpkin patch, Howlerween Adventure, Creature Mazes, and more!

2016-2017 Clements Key Club and Stuffed Animals for Children's Hospitals Service Project

Throughout 2016-2017 school year, Clements HS Key Club worked with several children hospitals to provide them with handmade stuffed animals for pediatric patients. Clements Key Club members would stay after school for about 2 hours every other Friday to design and sew their own stuffed animals and send them to designated hospitals.
